D4: A set of validation measures for the different aspects addressed

A range of validation measures will be compiled with a focus on temporal variability from sub- daily to decadal time scales, extreme events and spatial variability. The compilation will, e.g., include general performance measures such as bias, correlation and root mean squared error; measures to validate distributions such as Chi Square or Kolmogorov Smirnov statistics and quantile plots; and measures to validate downscaled time series such as hit and false alarm rates, Brier scores, ranked probability scores and quantile verification scores. This exercise will be accomplished by WG3-5, coordinated by WG1.
